Just last week I wrote a very in-depth article about Digital marketing and designing a plan. A huge part of any kind of marketing plan, is goal setting which is what I wanted to focus on for this week’s article.

Getting caught up with unimportant tasks and losing focus of what’s important happens to all of us. The reason I wanted to focus on goal setting is because most people either forget about their goal, or don’t track their progress.

Firstly, I am going to share a few tips on digital marketing goal setting to make sure you are doing everything you can to achieve your goals. I will also be sharing with you a great tool you can use to help you stay accountable for achieving your goals, whilst being reminded of your progress.

Let’s get started.

  1. Visualise Your Goals

Establishing new habits can be difficult, especially if you are a startup or small business and learning the ropes. One of the ways I hold myself accountable for achieving my goals, is visualing the outcome I want. When visualising your goals, you also need to think SMART!

SMART Goals

  1. Share Your Goals

One of the best ways to hold yourself accountable is to share your goals with those you work with, or spend a lot of your time with. This will make you stay focused as you won’t want to let someone down or tell them that you didn’t achieve your goal because you lost focus.

  1. Vision Boards

Throughout the process of starting two businesses, vision/mood boards were extremely important for me as I am a visual learner. If YOU are a visual person, try creating boards and having them in your view whilst working so you never forget what you want to achieve.

What tool should I use?

I recently came across a great tool called Lifetick: Goal setting made simple. After testing the service I realised it does exactly what is says on the tin (this can be hard to find).

You can access Lifetick from any of your smart devices so that you can stay focused wherever you are. Lifetick makes the process of setting goals so easy and simple; and fun!

Main features include;

  • Establishing core values
  • SMART methodology to keep you on track
  • Journal creation to write about your day-to-day life
  • Track your life so you are developing positive habits
  • Capture your dreams and aspirations in a written format
  • Analyse your progress over any period of time.

There is a free forever option available, but this will limit access to some of the main features. The “full” individual version is only $49 per annum (£32). If you are a business with more than 1 employee, there are 6 other payment plan options that are affordable, with great benefits.
